Jeremiah Hall, 4, climbs on a freezer to get candy when his mother Betty Aquino is not looking in the family's Bridgeport, Connecticut home March 17, 2015. Hall has been suspended from school numerous times in the past few months. Suspensions in Connecticut’s K-12 schools have dropped 7% in the last two years, but one category of students saw a 22% increase over that same time period: Children seven and under. Critics say suspending children at this age doesn’t correct the behavior of young kids who may not fully understand the consequences of their actions. Advocates are trying to pass a law that would prohibit suspending children under the age of 7.
